You all need to see this. Take a look at the moon[READ BELOW]

The lunar phenomenon you are seeing outside is called HALO. This is caused by the refraction, reflection and dispersion of light through ice particles suspended within thin, high altitude cirrus or cirrostratus clouds.
As light passes through these hexagon shaped crystals, it is bent at a 22 degree angle, thus creating an optical illusion of a ring around the moon or at times, sun. Courtesy Wikipedia.
