CDQ Reveals Why He Turned Down Davido’s Offer To Join HKN

Fast rising indigenous rapper, Sadiq Yusuf popularly known as CDQ has revealed in a recent interview that he rejected Davido’s
offer to join the HKN gang.
HKN gang was reportedly chasing the rapper to join it which he politely declined because he was under another label before the offer came in.
The ‘Indomie’ singer revealed this during Next Rated programme on Hiptv where he narrated how it all happened. He said: ”‘I got a text
from Davido one morning, and he was like we should have a meeting.
So we set it up and he wanted me to join HKN gang but unfortunately, I already signed to General Records owned by Masterkraft so we couldn't make it happen.”
CDQ further expressed delight for the fact that a big label like Davido’s wanted him . “I still look back to that period as one of the
biggest surprises of my career because I didn’t expect it,” he said.
CDQ was signed to General Records in 2013 and the label has gone on to made hits which includes, ‘Indomie’ that features Olamide and
also Davido in its remix.
