The story of a 24-year-old Nigerian woman identified only as
Juliet who was tricked into prostitution in Russia where she
went to study, has gone viral.
Narrating the the heart-chilling story, a Russian photographer,
Tatiana Egorova, revealed that some Nigerian pimps usually
lure most girls into sex slavery abroad by promising them
good jobs.
Egorova further disclosed that Juliet, who hails from Edo State,
went to study Economics in a Russian University only to be
tricked into prostitution by a woman after they arrived the
airport in Moscow.
The woman reportedly told Juliet that she owed her the money
which she paid for their transit and urged her to sell her body
to men in order to pay her back.
“Juliet is from Benin City, Edo State and she was first girl I
spoke with. Juliet said her neighbor who was later revealed to
be working for a gang, suggested to Juliet’s parents to send
their daughter to study Economics at a Russian university,”
Egorova disclosed.
While quoting Juliet directly, Egorova said, “I’d just finished
school and my parents agreed to send me to Russia after they
were convinced by a neighbour that it would be best for me.
“My neighbor helped to get a student visa for me. When we
landed at Moscow airport, her friend met us and took me to
Voronezh, 543km away from Moscow.
“When we arrived Voronezh, the neighbor told me I owed her
$45,000, being what she spent on me on transit and I must
become a prostitute so as to make money to pay off the debt.
“She took away all my money and passport and with life being
so difficult for me, I had to join in the sex work because the
woman and her friends tortured me every day for disobeying
them.
“I was stranded and left with no other option. I became a sex
slave to both men and animals and nothing to show for it
because my madam takes all the money.”
Nigeria/Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi, has fathered two children
with women he had short relationships with, the UK Mirror reports.
The report says Mikel is the father of a four-year-old son and a one-
year-old daughter, who was born after he met the mother at a
London nightclub in 2013.
The midfielder reportedly tends to the needs of his children, as he’s
said to have bought a £500,000 house in 2013 in the Home Counties
for his son and her mother.
The Mirror reports that a source told The Sun: “John also agreed to
give her tens of thousands a year in upkeep and, I think, agreed to
give her a new car every three to five years.”
As for his daughter, Mikel is also a supportive father, with a friend
of the daughter’s mother saying: “John has provided for her and the

Sun: “This is an entirely private matter.
“John provides for and cares for his children and will continue to do
so. He asks that their privacy is respected.”

The All Progressives Congress, APC has listed three fresh
corruption charges against the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed listed
the charges in a statement issued today; DAILY TRUST reports.
Part of the statement read, ''Those who would rather give comfort
to the looters by dismissing the media exposure of looting cases as
mere hell-raising should realize that no sane person can be silent in
the face of what is unfolding as the worst cases of brazen stealing
of public funds in Nigeria's history''.
"Today, we bring three more heart-rending cases to the attention of
Nigerians.”
These ''2.2 billion-US-dollar arms scandal, a 6.9 million-dollar fraud
by the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to President Jonathan,
committed under the guise of buying three mobile stages for the
President and another 2.5 billion-Naira scam involving the rent of
house boats'', Lai Muhammed alleged.
''''While those charged with handling these cases are finalizing the
details of bringing the suspects to justice, our immediate concern is
the attempt by the PDP, under whose umbrella the looting took
place, to blame the Buhari Administration for the mess and then
infer that things have been worse in Nigeria in the past 3 months
under the APC-led federal government than in the 16 years under

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, Ambassador
Godknows Igali, on Monday said electricity has been stable in the
country lately because there has not been any case of gas pipeline
vandalism.
Igali spoke with State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa,
Abuja.
He recalled that vandalism was the bane of electricity supply during
the last administration.
He said things improved with the decision of the current
administration to double efforts at engaging communities where the
pipelines passed through.
This, he said, led to increased gas supplies and improved power
supply nationwide currently at 4,600MW.
He said, “The gas is now passing to the gas pipelines and I think
that the government has been engaging the communities and the
places where these gas infrastructures pass through.
“We hope it will be sustained because, like I said, there is a
conscious engagement and it’s redouble.
“Redouble means that there was effort and when there was effort
and you put additional effort and additional effort, then, it means
that you have redoubled your work and that is what is going on.
“We saw tremendous vandalism especially before the handover. It
has never been so bad.
“But for the past three months, not a single day has had that kind of
vandalism. It is our prayer that this will continue.”
Igali explained that apart from President Muhammadu Buhari
building on efforts of past government and tasking stakeholders to
double efforts, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had been holding
almost daily meetings with power distribution companies on ways
of improving power supply to consumers.
He dismissed the insinuation that power supply improved because
of increased rains.
Igali explained that the hydro power stations in Kainji and Shiroro
contribute just about 20 per cent of the entire electricity and no
substantial additions come from there.

More than a dozen of virgin girls and young women died as they traveled to the traditional festival where the King of Swaziland is known to pick a new bride from thousands of topless, dancing
virgins.
This tragic accident, which happened along the MR3 Highway, Mahhala, involved two trucks, which were ferrying maidens and a sedan.
According to Times of Swaziland , at least 38 of them died when the open-topped truck collided with another vehicle, before being hit by a second truck as it traveled along a motorway
between the Swazi cities of Mbabane and Manzini on Friday afternoon.
The girls were all taking part in the Swazi Reed Dance Festival, an annual event which sees tens of thousands of unmarried girls
– or ‘maidens’ – perform for King Mswati III.
Last year, he plucked a 19-year-old virgin from the dancing maidens, who became his 14th wife.
Eye-witnesses reveal that traffic police officers pulled-over a Toyota van along the highway and that was when the first truck failed to avoid hitting the car as it smashed into the Toyota’s rear. This caused the pile up as the second truck crashed onto the truck which also had the excited maidens on board.
One of the maidens who survived the accident, in an interview with the Swazi News, confirmed the account of some of the witnesses.
“We were about 50 on board the first truck that smashed into the Toyota van and was crashed from the rear by the other truck which was driving behind ours,” Siphelele Sigudla (18) said.
Rights group The Swaziland Solidarity Network (SSN) has now called on the royal family to reconsider going ahead with the festival, which sees about 40,000 participating in the eight-day ceremony.

Francis Odega recently opened up that the viral “ Gerara Here ” video has brought him money and fame after it was uploaded by a friend on Instagram.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Punch, he said, “I am pleasantly surprised that just one scene from a movie, which I
starred in three years ago, has suddenly brought me so much attention and fame.”

Dare Art Alade was one of the most talked about celebrities during the Valentine season in 2014. The super R&B star, in February that year, brought one of the most famous celebrities in the world, Kim Kardashian, to Nigeria.
It’s no news of how she was said to not have lasted 45 minutes in the country, but new reports says that she lasted for almost a
day. This is according to Dare Art Alade , who said, in an interview with Sunday Sun, that she granted an exclusive interview with a media platform.
When the singer was asked about Kim posing nude and all, he said when he brought here to the country, she didn’t take off her
clothes.
According to him:
She didn’t take her clothes off when I brought her.
Let’s discuss it in context. Her coming here was to play a certain role which she did so effortlessly. Those that didn’t understand her job description would say
that she was here for 45 minutes. Why will somebody come all the way from America to Nigeria for 45minutes? First of all, she spent about a day here and also granted an exclusive interview with a media
platform.
Could she have done that within 15 minutes? We didn’t promote her as everybody’s role model when we brought her. We simply said Red Carpet Show with Kim Kardashian. Apart from the fact that she is a stylist by profession, she is famous for a plethora of
reasons. She is into cosmetics, has a clothes line and is into perfumes. Now you can tell me whether she’s a role model or not. She could be a role model depending on what you choose to idolize about her.
When you say she’s taking off her clothes everywhere, remember that she’s married and has people that give her permission to that. Bringing her here was purely a business decision. If you ask me whether I’m okay with her posing nude, that’s a totally different
question.
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG), and Pastor Enoch Adeboye has appealed to his friends,
children and supporters to support him in the completion of the 3.3km Arena of the church in Simawa, Ogun State.
The arena which was earlier billed to be used for the just concluded convention is yet to be completed due to lack of enough funds.
“The new arena is yet to be completed because there is no money. I believe that all the people who promised big money will
show up one day.
“For the first time in my life, I almost became a beggar. I have never asked for offering online. I don’t know how to do fine barer, it is just circumstances beyond my control,” Adeboye explained.
He appealed for more support for the project stressing that God will keep multiplying the needs of his children and they will become his divine treasurer.
The general overseer was optimistic that the new arena will be available for use by December, noting that “God provides for the
work”.
He urged Nigerians to keep hope in God alive and trust him to meet all their needs.
The programme tagged All Sufficient God attracters worshippers from 188 countries featured bible teachings, business seminar,
prophetic ministration, melody hour, prayer, and ordinations of new deacons, assistant pastors, full pastors and graduation ceremony of Bible school students.
The large crowd of worshipers included the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Benue State governor, Deacon Sam Ortom and
his wife, Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, the Speaker of Ekiti House of Assembly, Pastor Kola Oluwawole and traditional rulers.
According to Adeboye, God is more than sufficient for material, emotional and promotional needs, and is able to save until the uttermost.
He said that there is nothing too hard for God to do and if only people can trust him and keep hope alive, he will do the impossible in their lives.
1. Skip your fare in a bus
Taking public transport, including the Moluwe and Danfo buses, may be the cheap option of transportation in Lagos, but it is not free.
A fare is usually required and it is important you ensure you have enough cash to settle the transport fee before jumping on the bus. While it might be tempting to skip your bus fare, either because you think the conductor will not notice or you believe you can come up with a story touching enough to make them waive the fare, don’t do it. The public embarrassment and possible physical harm will not be worth it.
Some fare-jumpers have found themselves spending quality time at the hospital, treating wounds inflicted on them for trying to play hooky.
2. Put Your Wallet in Your Back

While most Lagosians are nice and helpful there are always folks looking to take advantage of unsuspecting tourists (and locals!).
Never place your wallet in your back pocket, as you are bound to lose it – sometimes without even knowing.
Be smart, use common sense and keep an eye on your wallet is, particularly when you’re in crowded places such as Obalande, Oshodi and Balogun market.
3. Flash cash around
Whether it’s when paying for things on the street, counting your money or taking out a wad of cash and then asking the waiter how to figure out the bill, flashing cash is never a good move in Lagos.
The Nigerian currency is not hard to figure out. Always keep a running tally in your head so you do not have to whip out your cash and start counting; this will also protect you from thieves.
4. Try to cut in line
With so many amazing things to do in Lagos, sooner or later you are going to have to wait in a line. Whether you’re queuing up to snag rush movie tickets, trying to grab a meal at a popular eatery or waiting to use an ATM in a shopping mall, you are going to have to wait along with everyone else.
If you stealthily try to make it to the front, you will be caught and blessed with the wrath of a crowd of scary, impatient Lagosians…and this is not something you want to deal with.
5. Taste street food with no intention
to buy
In some part of the country, street vendors will encourage you to have a taste of what they are selling, even if they know you
may not end up buying.
Some people actually eat to their fill by tasting street food from numerous vendors. However, in Lagos, if you are going to taste
it, you better be prepared to pay for a portion, even if it is as small as NGN50 worth. Most street vendors will reign insults and curses on you, while some other will take a step further and cause an embarrassing scene if you refuse to make a purchase.
6. Pay a hawker before collecting the
purchase
Despite the ban by the state government, the traffic in Lagos ensures that there are hawkers lurking around to meet the needs
of stressed and tired commuters.
If you are looking to buy anything from a hawker, never give them the cash before you receive the item as there is a huge chance they will disappear with your cash and the item. Also, if they need to give you some change after purchase, do not hand them the cash. Instead, ask them to return with the change you need before you make the purchase.
7. Compare Lagos with life elsewhere
This applies mostly to visitors. Do not spend time comparing things in Lagos to things in other cities in the country or even around the world. Do not complain that it is crowded and there is traffic almost on every street or that you come from an area with cheaper transportation. It is just rude to say where you come from is better than Lagos – so why did you visit? Things are DIFFERENT in Lagos. The sooner you learn and accept this,
the more enjoyable your stay will be.
