As the world mourns the passing of the late African and global icon, Nelson Mandela, Nigerian stars and other production partners, in collaboration with EbonyLife TV, Africa's first Global Black Entertainment Network, have initiated and concluded plans for an unprecedented and star-studded tribute, titled "The Legacy Lives … A Tribute Concert", in celebration of the extraordinary life and times of the legendary freedom fighter, nation builder, liberator, humanitarian, democrat, unity promoter, instrument of change, philanthropist, Nobel Peace Prize winner, the first democratically elected black South African President and an inspiration to leadership for the rest of the world.Headline acts for the concert include Dbanj, Tuface, Darey, Burna Boy, Ikechukwu, Eldee the Don, Zaina, Mo Easy, Engager, Chioma, DJ Babus, Timi Dakolo, Waje, Julius Agwu, Mike Aremu, J. Martins, Niyola, Omawunmi, Tiwa Savage, Rocksteady, amongst others.
Production partners for the tribute include Beat FM, Eko Hotel, Maverick Equinox, Bella Naija, Red Media Communications, 360 Nobs, Linda Ikeji and Noel Productions. Behind the scene support will be provided by African Events, GQ Acoustics, No Surprises Events, Pisces Power, Edi Lawani, Prive, South African Airlines, Discovery Brands Management, Damell Photography and K-Square.
The commemorative event, which is scheduled to hold on December 18, 2013, at The Oceanview Restaurant, Victoria Island, Lagos, promises to be a very befitting and groundbreaking honour in memory of the extraordinary life and unselfish contributions of one of the greatest beacons of hope, inspiration and freedom to ever walk the surface of this earth.
According to Funmi Victor-Okigbo, Chief Executive Officer, No Surprises Events, "We'll ensure that the event is orchestrated and executed to perfection according to world-class standards."

Honey can be used in juice or water which will help speed up metabolism. Avoid high fat milk products like cheese and butter. Always prefer to have white meat like fish, instead of red meat as they are low in fat content. Some herbs like mint, black pepper, ginger should not be exempted from your diet as they help in digestion as well as raising metabolism. Most importantly, remember to stay happy, mentally strong and continue positive efforts which will give positive result and good health.
4. Avoid Skipping Meals: If you think that skipping meals is a good way to lose weight then you are quite mistaken. In fact, skipping meals can make you more likely to gain weight. For instance, if you habitually miss breakfast then you are more likely to overeat at lunch or eat snacks throughout the day to compensate for the missed meal.

Okon Lagos recently shared his experience in marriage so far with Encomium, see excerpts below:
What was the attraction to your wife, Idara?
What kind of attraction, physical, emotional or spiritual.
All of the above…
She is like a gold fish which has no hiding place. I spotted her at a wedding.

At what point did you know she was your wife?
I can’t say I knew she would be my wife the first day we met. We interacted a little. At a point, I just got to know she is reasonable, real, homely, God-fearing and above all, she is not perfect. And she knows I’m not either. I saw the prospect of her tolerating me. Later, I just decided to ask the big question, ‘will you marry me?’

How did you do it?
I did it inside my car (laughs). And her answer was a big Yes! If she told you she said yes, it is understandably to please me. She didn’t say an automatic yes. She didn’t look at me seriously. That was when I knew I have a little personality problem. She couldn’t differentiate Ime ‘Bishop’ Umoh from the artistic part of me. But I told her I was serious and then asked her again right inside my car. I don’t spend long time in Uyo. So, whenever I saw her we had to drive round the town and our discussions were usually inside the car. It was also in my car. I asked her again, will you marry me? And she said a big yes!

How has married life been?
Married life is nice o. For me, there is nothing more blissful than marriage, especially when you know you have made a good and perfect decision. There is also this inner joy that you are talking with someone you love and she loves you back for the rest of her life for who you are.
What do you think is the sweetest thing about being married?
Like I said, you feel more secured, you have a companion who is always there for you.
Do you miss bachelorhood?
I wouldn’t say I don’t miss bachelor life, but it is better to be married than being single when you are of age.
What has being married hindered you from doing?
I can’t stay a day now without hearing from my wife. I don’t have time for any other woman right now. And it will remain so forever, God being my helper.
What is your prayer for this marriage?
I pray for more of God’s blessings and marital bliss. Our marriage will also be blessed with children.
His wife, Idara Saviour is a third year student of Communication Arts, University of Uyo. She is in her early 20s.
How did your path cross?
We met at a wedding where he was the Master of Ceremonies. I was in the bridal train. After the ceremony, we had a chat and exchanged phone numbers. That was how it all started.
How many kids are you guys looking at?
Four, two boys and two girls.
Does your husband make jokes for you at home?
Yes. He makes me happy. If you are with him, you would be laughing and smiling all the time.
Does Okon Lagos ever get serious at home?
Of course, he acts like a normal person.
You guys had to postpone your honeymoon because of your school and his work. Where would you be honeymooning, when you are ready?
We are planning to go to the United Kingdom for our honeymoon.

Like we say in Nigeria, ‘wonders shall never end’. Two brothers, born of the same parents, are currently at war. Serious war! The retired Army Generals are engaged in a bitter feud over a woman. Yes, the elder brother accused the younger one of snatching his wife, sleeping with her and painfully, asking him to go to hell, when confronted.
The scandalous occurrence which is now the talk of the town – especially in the northern part of the country where they hail from and also among their friends, some of whom have already waded in without achieving any result, is indeed a scandal like no other. The woman at the centre of the messy drama has Ladi as her first name while the brothers have I and M kicking off their own names. Alphabet B begins their surname. The two brothers, at some point in this country, were very powerful and in charge of two sensitive positions. The marriage, contracted under Islamic rites in 1970, is now seriously threatened. Blessed with four children before the madness started, it’s chances of surviving are now very slim. Pouring out his heart to a friend, the aggrieved elder brother stated that his younger brother capitalised on his constant absence from home, due to the nature of his job, to visit his home, seduce his wife and now both of them are sharing the woman. Besides constantly talking to her for hours on the telephone; spoiling her silly with expensive gifts and cash, the woman now spends more time with her brother in law than her husband. The most painful aspect of the whole sordid drama, YES International! gathered, is that both of them have developed thick skins to the murmurings of all the right thinking people who are amazed and flabbergasted by what they are doing. They’ve actually become so shameless and blatant with their romance. Describing his brother as a sex maniac, the matter has since polarised the family, with members now belonging to different camps. Confessing that he is still in love with the woman, who interestingly is one of his three wives, the elder brother has been reaching out to some respected and influential citizens of this country and begging them to plead with his younger brother to hands off his wife. Summing up his brother’s immoral act as frightening and unacceptable in the context of their blood relationship, he lamented that the accused is deploying his vast connections to humiliate him, rubbish his marriage, denigrate the family’s name, which he heads at the moment as the eldest male child and at the same time plunge the future of the products of the union into jeopardy. While clearing the place, the animals in the bush and the fish in the water were left to live normally in their natural habitat. So, the tourists who come to this place feed the monkeys in the forest, roll on the white sand at the waterfront and generally feel the touch of nature while seeking spiritual answers to their numerous questions. At any point in time, it is not uncommon to see a squatting Thai, an American, South Africans, Koreans and some other Europeans and South Americans strolling up and down the superlative edifice known as The Synagogue Church of All Nations.

Mercy Aigbe's Husband Narrowly Escapes Death In Assassin Attack!

A couple of weeks back, Lanre Gentry, Mercy Aigbe’s husband and owner of upscale hotel, La Veronique, Oregun, Lagos, was attacked by armed robbers on Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Lagos, while returning home from work. According to the Ilesa, Osun born businessman, the incident was like a dream.

"I can’t just explain but all I need is to continue thanking God for protecting me that day. In fact, I would say it takes the grace of God for anybody to have scaled through what I experienced that night. I really thank God that I am still alive. Even for almost four days I was shaking.

But I thank God that I wasn't killed and I was not even injured. They only damaged my car.

They were five, and all of them were armed. They were between 21 and 22 years. They came in one old Gallant car. They just stopped at the middle of the road suddenly but thank God my car was strong. I drove my Touareg jeep that night. So, being a very strong car, there was no way they could have used their car to chase me, when I outsmarted them. But above all, I give glory to God.

Didn’t they attempt to shoot you?

Yes, they did but God saved me. They even shot at all the tyres but they couldn’t succeed in getting me.

How did you now escape unhurt?

It’s only God that can explain that.

Were you alone in the car?

Yes, I was the only one in the car. That’s what I think gave me the courage to move and push their car off the road. May be if another person were to be with me that night, the story might have not been the same.

But there was a report that your wife, Mercy Aigbe was with you in the car?

No, I was alone. I was going home from my hotel. But after the incident, I couldn’t go again. The following day, I had to take the police to Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, where it was parked. The car was badly damaged, I spent about N500,000 to repair it. I thought the end has come that night when I saw the guys pumping their guns at me. It was like a dream. But something just touched my heart and said, “Lanre, move.” That’s how I moved and pushed their car away from the road. That’s how they started shooting sporadically. It was when I got to Lagos Airport Hotel that I realized that all the tyres of the jeep have been damaged, and also part of the body. Immediately, I got back to my hotel, I told the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officials that were stationed there what happened, and we all went back to the scene of the incident. But before we got there, they had all left with their car.

Has there been any arrest concerning that?

There is nothing like that but investigations are still in progress.

And the police have not gotten any clue yet?

Nothing yet.

Do you suspect any foul play from any corner?

There was nothing like that. I don’t need to be thinking in that direction. I only need to continue thanking God for His mercy and protection.

Nelson Mandela's Funeral Plans Revealed, Oprah Winfrey Pays Tribute to the Late South African Leader

The funeral of Nelson Mandela will be held on Sunday, Dec. 15, in the Eastern Cape Province of Qunu, according to South African President Jacob Zuma.
"We should all work together to organize the most befitting funeral for this outstanding son of our country," Zuma said on Friday, Dec. 6. Zuma confirmed that Mandela will be accorded a state funeral.
Qunu is where Mandela grew up and the ceremony will be held "under a large tent nestled in the hills where Mandela ran and played as a child," according to CNN.
Zuma announced that Sunday, Dec. 8, will be a "national day of prayer and reflection," and outlined the events of the mourning period.

"The official memorial service will be held on the 10th of December at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg," Zuma said. "From the 11th to the 13th of December the remains of our beloved Madiba will lie in state...in Pretoria, where he served as the first president of this young democracy; during these days official memorial services will also be held in all provinces and regions. Once again, we thank all South Africans for the dignity, respect, and the support that has been provided to the Mandela family from the period of Madiba's illness to his eventual passing."
The revered South African statesman, who spent 27 years in prison for treason before becoming the apartheid-torn country's first black president in 1994, died Thursday, Dec. 5, at his home after being in failing health for some time.
Zuma announced Mandela's passing in a televised address.
"Although we knew that this day would come, nothing can diminish our sense of a profound and enduring loss," Zuma said on Thursday. "Our thoughts are with the South African people who today mourn the loss of the one person who, more than any other, came to embody their sense of a common nationhood. Our thoughts are with the millions of people across the world who embraced Madiba as their own, and who saw his cause as their cause."
Mandela's last formal public appearance was during the 2010 World Cup, when his country played host. He had most recently been hospitalized in Pretoria in June for a recurring lung infection, his fifth time in two years.

Countless celebrities paid tribute to the late political and cultural icon, including Oprah Winfrey.
"One of the great honors of my life was to be invited to Nelson Mandela's home, spend private time and get to know him," the OWN founder shared on her Instagram account, along with a photo of the smiling duo.
"He was everything you've ever heard and more—humble and unscathed by bitterness. And he always loved to tell a good joke. Being in his presence was like sitting with grace and majesty at the same time. He will always be my hero. His life was a gift to us all."
Aretha Franklin spoke about Mandela during an interview on Sirius XM's Joe Madison Show.
"Nelson Mandela to me, certainly being the obvious great leader of his country, and being the courageous man that he was, I kind of saw him in a context similar to Dr. King and Gandhi and great civil rights men such as yourself, the head of the NAACP [from] Detroit," the Queen of Soul said. "Great men who were out there on the front line fighting every day for justice and parity for our people and other people as well."

Kim Kardashian gave one fan a night to remember during a recent Kanye West show. And it was all thanks to the powers of Twitter.
The 33-year-old invited one of her many supporters, whose handle is @MyleezaKardash, to join her in the VIP section at the rapper's "Yeezus" concert on Thursday, Dec. 5 in New Orleans.
"I'm looking for Kim SO hard while we wait for Yeezy to come out. Wya sis?" Myleeza tweeted to the E! star.
"I'm sending someone to go get you so you can come sit with me!!!" Kim responded. "Need your seat # & section. DM me ASAP!!!"
A direct message followed and the rest is history, including a fun photo shoot of the two lovely ladies!

Myleeza described her unbelievable evening the next morning, with the headline "Story of how I met Queen Kim & King Yeezus coming NOW!"
"Kim's security came to get me & (my friend) Sara and when we got to the VIP section...Kim immediately stood up and waved for us and said, 'Hey Myleeza! Thank you for coming!'" Myleeza explained. "YES SHE KNEW ME & CAN PRONOUNCE MY NAME. I went CRAZY!"
"We sat down right behind her in VIP chilling" she continues. "Me & Sara were dancing were dancing so hard and screaming every lyric with 'Ye! Kim and her bestie Brittny [Gastineau] turned around and laughed at us which was so cool," she wrote.
After the fun show, Kim invited Myleeza and her pal to meet Yeezy backstage.

Here is a mail from Born Winners Empire that we got in our mail which claims that Davido’s newest member to the HKN Gang is still signed with them. Read press release below: Our attention has been drawn to the false and persistent claim by members of HKN Music that young music producer – Joshua Boafo a.k.a JOSHBeatz, is signed to HKN. Contrary to this, We wish to clarify that ‘JoshBeatz’ is officially signed on to Born Winners Empire (BWE) as in-house producer. All contractual obligations on the part of Born Winners Empire have been fulfilled till date. JoshBeatz is expected to produce a Mixtape under BWE. At the time of this incidence he was in d studio working on a new single for QUEST and also our newest signed artist – BAZINO. Be it also known that as at this moment JoshBeatz is still living in BWE premises in Lekki. The first news of this mischief broke on twitter on 21st Nov, when Davido via his @iamdavido handle tweeted “Welcome @joshbeatz to the family!!!! Hkn gang!! NEWEST MEMBER!!!! Congrats!!” This came as an embarrassment and sad surprise to us because Davido is well aware that JoshBeatz is on a valid contract with BWE, he and his crew have visited our Lekki office / studios a few times when JoshBeatz recorded him on a track for the JoshBeatz mixtape. We have utmost respect for Davido and HKN, and we contacted them to verify the situation, but they said it was just a random casual tweet by Davido and they have no interest in signing the young producer. Yet we continued to observe a manipulative and deceitful under-the table approach to woo our artist/producer. HKN further went ahead last week to release recorded materials produced by JoshBeatz whom they tagged ‘HKN newly signed producer”. Music business is Serious business, and there are rules to the trade. We must put a stop to this hell-destined ‘Hustle and Blow’ mentality and observe mutual respect as music business professionals. In an industry that is constantly faced with flagrant disregard and abuse of contractual commitment, it is disappointing that even well established record labels will now manipulate and conspire with Artistes to breach contracts. Its a shame indeed. In view of the above, the management of BWE finds JoshBeatz’s disloyalty and embarrassment totally unacceptable, and has opted to Terminate his (JoshBeatz) contract forthwith. In the studio to promote his new music video Bound 2, the conversation soon turned to the day’s biggest news out of South Africa. West was asked who he thought on the world stage today could possibly replace Nelson Mandela in terms of leadership, and his unconventional answer left heads spinning. “I am the next Nelson Mandela,” West responded. “I’m only 36 years old, and when I look at everything I’ve accomplished, it’s the only comparison that makes any sense. By the time I’m 95, I’m going to be a bigger hero than he ever was. “Nelson Mandela did a lot of good work, don’t get me wrong. But I think I’m on track to do something even bigger. I liberate minds with my music. That’s more important than liberating a few people from apartheid or whatever. “Not to say Mandela wasn’t for real. I have mad respect. I just think we need to keep things in perspective here. Anyone can be replaced. And I think I’m well on my way towards being the next great black leader. I’m already worshiped around the world.
